Weddings at Corse Lawn  

At Corse Lawn we are licensed for civil ceremonies to be held in three rooms:

1. The South Room , holds up to 25 people and is ideal for the smaller party
2. The Garden Room , holds up to 60 people
3. The Main Restaurant , holds up to 70 people

The Civil Ceremony itself is carried out by Superintendent Registrar Janet Jellis who operates under Worcestershire County Council. She can be contacted on 01684 573000. Please note that if you and your partner live outside the jurisdiction of the Worcestershire County Council you will need to inform your own County Council Registrar of your wedding as the Banns must be displayed in the area that you live.

PRICE GUIDELINES

MENUS

All the menus contained in this pack are £27.50 per person assuming a lunchtime function; for evenings add £7.00 per person. Should you want something different from the suggested menus then we will be delighted to discuss this and will quote an appropriate price.

DRINKS

Drinks packages are something we find very difficult to do , everybody wants something different and in varying quantities. Hence we would rather discuss your requirements and quote you a price, to give you an example:

• A glass and a half of Pimms or Sparkling Wine on arrival
• Half a bottle of house wine with the meal - £15.75 per person
• A glass of house sparkling wine for toasts

Please note we do not charge corkage.

BEDROOMS

Please consult our tariff on the home page - all bedrooms booked in conjunction with your wedding are entitled to a 10% discount on these rates.

ROOM HIRE FOR CIVIL CEREMONIES

There is a room hire charge for these of £200, you will also have to pay a fee to the Registrar for her time.

CONFIRMATION

To confirm your booking we need a letter of confirmation and a deposit of £300. The deposit is for 'loss of date' and should you cancel your reception after paying this you will lose the deposit unless we are able to re-let the day to another couple. All other charges will be sent to you after the Reception and are due within 14 days of the receipt.

CIVIL CEREMONIES AT CORSE LAWN

As soon as a couple have made provisional arrangements for their marriage at Corse Lawn House Hotel they should be advised to contact Mrs J Adams the Superintendent Registrar for the Malvern Registration District situated at The Register Office, Hatherton Lodge, Avenue Road, Malvern, Worcs, WR14 3AG Telephone 01684-573000

The Hours of attendance of the Superintendent Registrar are:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am - 5:00pm
• Thursday is 8.30am - 6:00pm

Without the presence of the Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar there can be no marriage and any arrangements for the use of the premises depend entirely on their availability. It is therefore essential they the couple make an advance booking with this Superintendent Registrar for her attendance at the proposed marriage as soon as a booking can be accepted. A booking can be made up to 12 months in advance. A fee for this attendance will be payable to the Registrar before the ceremony based on:

• Monday to Thursday £265
• Friday £285
• Saturday £300
• Sunday £325
• Bank Holiday £325

The Superintendent Registrar will advise you of the current fee for a marriage certificate which is payable to the Registrar. This fee is in addition to the attendance fee shown above.

Both parties will also need to give, in person, a separate notice of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar of the registration district where they live. This/these notice(s) is valid for 12 months. Both parties should, therefore, attend the register office where they reside as soon as possible so that notice can be given.

The couple should be warned that any arrangements made for a marriage to take place at Corse Lawn House Hotel are dependent on:

1. The attendance of the Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar for the Malvern Registration District, nd
2. The issue of the authority or authorities for marriage by the Superintendent Registrar(s) to whom notice of marriage was given. When notice is given in a different registration district from the one where the marriage is taking place, the couple will have to collect the authority before the ceremony and ensure that it is delivered to the Registrar who is to attend the ceremony.

The hours between which a marriage can be legally solemnised are 8.00am and 6pm

The couple should be advised that only a civil, non-religious ceremony can be permitted by the Superintendent Registrar. Any music, reading, words or performance which form any part of the ceremony must be secular. The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar who will be attending the ceremony.

Any rights of copyright for music, readings, etc permitted at the ceremony are a matter for the couple and the holder of the approval.
